Jeanette Kirshbaum joined PBSC in September after relocating to Colorado in the summer of 2006. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Texas Christian University and a Master of Science degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Texas at Tyler in 1997.
For the past decade Jeanette has worked at leading brain injury rehabilitation facilities in Texas. From 2002 to 2006 she worked in the Neuropsychology department at The Institute for Rehabilitation and Research (TIRR) in Houston, one of the top five rehabilitation hospitals in the nation. Prior to her work at TIRR, Jeanette worked both in clinical and research positions at the Transitional Learning Center in Galveston, a post-acute brain injury treatment facility.
Jeanette's specialties include neuropsychological testing, psychotherapy to address adjustment and behavioral issues in patients suffering traumatic brain injury (TBI), and cognitive rehabilitation therapy for those with acquired brain injury. In addition to her clinical work, she has published and presented research on psychological and cognitive screening instruments, group treatment of self concept following TBI, and strategies of treatment in cognitive rehabilitation.
